Eating in the Heat

June 26, 2011

It’s tempting to think that when it’s hot the best thing to do is to eat ice and lie down in the shade. Well I’ve decided that it’s better to get as hot as you can and see how much you can tolerate. That’s because I will be in Morocco during the peak of August heat, when the temperature during the day isn’t likely to drop much below 35 degrees and is more than likely going to be up around 40 degrees.

That makes the British heat we have experienced today fairly pedestrian. So I should be able to sit out in the sun and eat hot food and feel like it’s normal, or at least I should be able to do this before I jet off to the dessert. So today Tash and I ate some chips at the Saxon Mill, outside in the heat.

The rest of the day in food:

12:00 Flapjack
13:30 Belgian Chips with mayo (pictured)
15:30 Sunday roast: pork, potatoes, carrot, cauliflower cheese, broccoli
