What does Andy Murray Eat?

June 27, 2011

It’s Wimbledon season and Murray Mania* is spread across the back pages of most red tops, so I thought I would let you in on what Andy puts inside him to compete in a Grand Slam. According to the Mirror, he packs away three times your recommended average of 2,000 calories a day. His 6,000 calorific diet consists of six meals a day.

We couldn’t get a statement about what he ate today, but I saw him gauge down on at least two bananas. Using the information presented by The Mirror I can conclude his diet would look something like this:

Murray’s Diet

06.00 Protein shake, yoghurt and bagel with peanut butter
10.00 Big Sushi Snack
11.00 Double Steak and red onion pasta
16.00 [on court] 4x banana
18.00 Large Salmon with copious rice and sweet potatoes
18.30 Blueberries with more yoghurt

All served up with some 6 litres of Robinsons Squash.

Compared to my diet

09.15 Weetabix with banana
13.30 Cottage Pie with peas and wedges
19.00 Pasta Bake followed by chocolate fingers, some dairy milk and a cookie
