HOW TO: buy a pepper that you can eat in 4 months time, which will also be extremely deformed

August 6, 2011

If you’ve never grown your own food then your missing out… on deformed fruit and vegetables.

Coming home from a week long holiday this afternoon, I was delighted to see that the pepper on the plant I had been growing for the past 4 months had finally turned red and was ready to use. Only problem, was that it was pretty small and very deformed. Oh well, at least I tried.

The other thing is that it’s the only pepper to grow on the plant at all, so it was a lot of work for very minimal (and deformed) rewards.

However, there are always the chilli plants which are coming on nicely.

Eaten today:

Millionaires Shortbread at Costa, Devizes
Cheese sandwich, flapjack
Chicken Fajhitas (feat. deformed, home-grown pepper), salad, wedges and salsa
