Throw Away Britain

November 7, 2011
by

The Guardian today reported that new research shows we British throw 10% of our weekly shop in the bin, which amounts to £12bn a year or in real terms £50 a month in our pockets.

The report puts the wastage down to not knowing how to correctly store our food; not planning our weekly shops; or simply cooking meals that are too big.

So I guess the simple solution is plan your shop; buy less food more frequently; and share cooking with friends so your less likely to over prepare. Tomorrow’s lunch is also a good place for that access food to go or the freezer.

Eaten Today:

06.30 Toast
11.00 Toast
13.30 Mexican Chicken & Rice
16.25 Jaffa Cake x2, Peanut M&M x9, Club
19.30 Chilli Meatballs & Spaghetti
