Tom's Spicy Meatballs

I love the title of this. It needs no further introduction.

Adapted from this recipe from Jamie Oliver’s Ministry of Food.

• rosemary
• as much bread crumb as you need to make the mixture of good consistency
• 250g good-quality minced beef, pork, or a mixture of the two
• 1 heaped tablespoon dried oregano
• 1 egg, small
• salt and pepper
• olive oil
• basil
• 1 small onion
• 1 cloves of garlic
•  ground red chilli (with the herbs and spices)
• 1 x 400g tins of chopped tomatoes
• 200g pasta of choice

The Meatballs

Mix the mince, with the egg, some rosemary and some oregano and add bread crumbs until the mixture is of a stodgy consistency. Add ground chilli to taste, a little goes a long way!

Shape into balls and put to one side.

The Sauce

Crush the garlic and chop the onions and then add to a frying pan with olive oil. Cook untill the onions are soft and starting to brown. Add the chopped tomatoes and some oregano, again add some ground chilli to taste.

Boil the sauce whilst starting off the pasta.

Fry the meatballs until cooked through and serve.
